Howdy everybody! Just finished this. I also did this as a DEMO thread on Wetcanvas 11"x14" on Ampersand Pastelbord, assorted soft pastels, mostly Mt. Visions and de Marrais.
Update: The Redstreake Gallery was involved in a freak accident yesterday. An SUV drove through the front window of the building. I am sending my prayers and thoughts to Jennifer and her friend who was hurt in the accident. This painting was destroyed in the accident.

Out West

Today I went down to the Restreake Gallery with 3 of my paintings and set up my pastels and painted all day. This gallery is owned by Jennifer Redstreake Geary and she just opened it a couple of weeks ago. YOOHOO, I'm represented by my first gallery!! Thanks Jen!http://www.redstreakegallery.com/index.html There were customers in and out and I met several people...it was so much fun! Jen and I went to lunch at a cute little Mexican restaurant and had the nicest meal. We just had the nicest time all day. This is the painting I did for the demo.

~~Bright Summer Day~~
Hello! This is a sketch I did this week from a photo I took last summer at Booker T. Washington State Park. It has been a long time since my last painting, so I thought I'd slowly get back into it with some small sketches. This one is 7" x 7", assorted soft pastels (Mount Visions, Giraults, de Marrais pastels) on Wallis white. I do want to mention the Paul de Marrais pastels are absolutely wonderful! So if you get a chance, check them out at http://www.pauldemarrais.com/coda/index.html They are creamy, big and fat and are highly pigmented. Original and Prints available.
