It's finally finished! I had been thinking about using that great big Ampersand Pastelbord for a while and when I took that photo, it was the right one for that size. I made sure that the composition was worked out 100% on the final thumbnail sketch (I did many). It was really strange. I walked in my studio, didn't even know I was going to paint. It was like somebody else took over my body and thoughts. I pulled that big board out from under the treadmill where it was stored, picked up a big piece of vine charcoal and just went at it. It flowed smoothly and by the time I knew it, it was almost finished. I was in the groove. Didn't feel it coming, but it just hit, at that moment.
24"x36" on Ampersand Pastelbord, Mount Visions and Richeson Handmade pastels. I have a 6" wide antique gold plein air frame for it alreay. Framed size = 30"x42"

This is fabulous. Of all the pictures I've seen, this is the best for me. I'll be amazed if it doesn't sell.
