I have the most
beautiful Austin Prod. acrylic sculpture of a horse and foal. It is
marked Austin Prod 1984 (hard to see the end of the year). I don't know
the name or artist. It is frosted and just beautiful. The other day one
of my kitties was playing and knocked it off the table and it broke
into 2 pieces. I am so heartbroken!! Does anyone know of a place here in
the US or in Canada where I could send it to be repaired? I love the
piece so much and the break is good and clean that I think it could be
repaired. Thank you

Here is a piece I started last night. LOL...when I went to bed, I liked it. When I got up, I hated it and almost washed it off. Then I got a second wind and spruced it up a bit and now I think it came out pretty good. Oh, I've done this one before in oils and now that I'm back to my pastels, thought I'd try it again.
From Shuptrine's Gold Leaf Designs..... Call for Artists
Come one, come all! As we all know, Chattanooga is a beautiful city
with breathtaking views of the city, the river, and our beloved
mountains. In celebration of our great city, and all of the wonderful
artists of the world, we are hosting the first annual Scenic City Paint
Out! All artists are welcome, and it will be a Plein Air event hosted by
our very own, Brett Weaver. Join us for a week in April of 2013 to take
workshops, paint various gorgeous views in Chattanooga, win prizes, and
showcase your work! There is a $35 application fee, but all mediums
will be considered for the Scenic City Paint Out ( tentatively scheduled for April 12-20th) . This event supports
our own Reflection Riding Nature Center, a non-profit organization in
Chattanooga. Please contact Bonny Shuptrine at 423-266-4453 or

Mount Visions are my workhorse brand of pastels. I use them 100% of the time in all of my paintings. Did you know they have over 400 colors? This link is to their value
index, which is so wonderful!! Talk about eye candy!! You can pick out
whatever colors you need by value. Mount Visions are big and fat and
loaded with pigments too!! Oh, and they are only $3.25/stick. Now that is a HUGE bang for your buck!! And one more thing, they are made right here in AMERICA!!! Yes, they are made in Tampa, Florida!! I absolutely love them......just saying. (I am not affiliated with Mount Visions and do NOT make any money for saying nice things about them!!)
always trying to learn more about color, but my first love is painterly
realism. Here is my newest piece, finished tonight. It's very near
and dear to my heart. It's from a photo I took in Old Forge, NY, at the
Green Bridge, looking north.
I took the photo up in the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate NY a few years ago
while visiting my brother, Woody. I'm going to call it "Funky Pines" because that's
what they are ..... funky!! They grow like that up there and the shapes are always
About 4 years ago I was out taking photos for reference material and I came upon this field and fell in love. The only thing was, when I took the photos, I never even saw the 3 layers of mountains in the background!! I was shocked when I got back to my computer and downloaded the photos!! The field was beautiful in itself, but with the added mountains in the background, it became magical!!
The photo I took that inspired this painting was from the same area as my last painting (Hidden Place-Turquoise Waters). This river is hidden way back in past my favorite field and is only about a 1/2 mile from my house.
Hidden way back past the field where I was plein air painting a couple of weeks ago is a river with the most beautiful turquoise water. This piece was inspired by one of the photos I took that day. 8x10, oils on Raymar panel.
